Headed out this morning to check on the fall colors knowing that is was still a little too early. Hiked the Pipeline road section with a steep climb out of the canyon at the pump and up to W Bonita Rim Rd where I then walked the road back to my truck completing a loop. The sycamores and others were close to peak, but the cottonwoods are going to need a few more weeks. The surprise of the day was how well Bonita Creek was flowing and it was all I could do not to get my feet wet with the 13 creek crossings, failed at the very last crossing.
Just another beautiful trip up the canyon and one I will do many, many more times! |
