Almost June and still hiking the western Supers. Amazing! Did the Weaver's Needle Loop out of Peralta going CCW but this time I took the cross-cut trail south of Weaver's. Loved it! The little basin just south of the Needle is such a cool spot and nobody goes there. The trail junction on the Terrapin Trail side is easy to find maybe a half mile past Bluff Saddle. The route is cairned and easy to follow into the basin and up to the saddle above Boulder Canyon. The last quarter mile I lost the trail in the brush so I don't know where the junction on the Peralta Trail side comes out. I think it might be difficult to follow going up that side and it is very rough country in there. Getting over from Terrapin is quite easy. Sweet miles.
