Started at LDSP and took Crosscut Trail to Crosscut TH, the Crosscut TH lot was packed and cars were parked along the road. Many not familiar with the area, ran into a couple of bewildered ladies on crosscut trail I had to convince they were not on second water trail , waved over a group ,to follow me who were attempting to reach the waterfall by going up the wash from the last water crossing. There was a nice pool from the heavy flow over the waterfall , went above the cliffs to take in the views of Weavers Needle and the snow dusted Mazatzals. With noise of excited kids and the sound of water and except for the temperature could imagine being at Wet and Wild in Orlando. Decided to seek some solitude by cutting across toward praying hands , which had some rock climbers on it. Thought about going up the canyon with waterfalls but it was getting late so cut across to Treasure Loop, did see 3 mule deer along the way but only a picture of two. Perfect temperatures for hiking. |
