| no partners | | Nice day for a hike, a bit hazy despite yesterday’s rain storm. Had the place ,5024, to myself as two others left when I arrived, always enjoyable views here , unlike Flat Iron can catch a glimpse of Canyon Lake and Saguaro Lake from here. Glad that the majority find Flat Iron satisfying enough. Appreciate whoever trimmed the agave on the route from the saddle to 5024. Visited the 2011 plane crash site. Took a tour around the perimeter of Flat Iron finding a nice sun exposed rock to take a prolonged break. Being a weekday there was not a big crowd going up Siphon Draw even a few periods with no one in front or behind me. Took an extra tour of Prospector and Treasure loop and disappointed with the lack of lupine or poppies, the brittle bush providing most of the color right now. In general everything appears quite green from the rains, hopefully not leading up to another big wildfire. |
