| no partners | | I was originally going to hike Flatiron today, but with it being closed I went to Option B and decided to hike up to Picketpost instead.
We started early and were the first ones on the trail, so we did not see anyone on the way to the top. Once at the summit, we hung out for a while and had the place to ourselves. We passed 2 small groups on the way back down, and I was surprised at how few people were doing this hike today. Based on the facebook posts that I saw, I guess that most people were instead out illegally hiking Flatiron, Hieroglyphics, or the Peralta Trail.
This is only my second time to do this hike, and I really enjoyed it, my achy knees notwithstanding! We were in the shade all the way up to the summit, and the temps weren't all THAT warm.
This hike is a winner in my book, and I'm sure that I'll do it at least once more in the cooler months. |
