Just a little morning thing on quicketpost. The spray paint is out of hand. There are three different versions, and some of them take wildly poor routes. TNF actually has a volunteer couple living at the trailhead keeping track of use numbers and doing some PSAR. Which is a welcome addition. Apparently people head up and get lost, and many don't figure out the way down before dark.

Either the FS should construct a trail and mark it, or they should properly educate people about the difference between hiking something they saw on a phone app versus off-trail route-finding and scrambling desert peaks. Or they can just keep paying to rescue people who saw a photo of a bench that they have to have in their own instastory. :-k
