A short loop hike along the Metate and Towhee Trails and return on the Spur Cross Trail with Grandson Michael. We were hoping to see a lot of birds on this trail near the banks of Cave Creek but only saw a few. We did see a couple of Desert Cottontail rabbits but those critters abound around our condo. This trail is also known for some of the largest Saguaro cactus in the area. A nice enjoyable sunny afternoon hike but didn't get our fill of critter sittings unless you count the many other hikers on this Martin Luther King Jr Holiday.
