The parking at the Hieroglyphic Trailhead was good early. I only saw a few hikers on my way out. There were several persons on the Wave Cave section. I wasn't sure how well marked or overgrown the turn off might be so I went off-trail a little early. I found the trail to the cave soon enough after. The trail is narrow but well traveled with a large cairn at the turn so no worries there. I ended up hiking past the cave to the waterfall. Somewhat surprised to see water flowing but the area is tight so difficult to get good photos. I stopped at Shaka Cave on the way back for a look. The morning was cool but the return trip was nice. |
