| partners | | I did this hike almost year ago to the day to see the autumn foliage. This year it was about a week to 10 days prior to prime color but it was still well worth the drive. My sister from Tucson joined me. The parking lot at the TH was completely full but we each shoehorned our cars into spaces that weren't really meant to be. Her friend cancelled at the 11th hour due to covid and @tibber also cancelled to to illness. So our foursome became two. Get well soon Angela and Esther.
As a twosome we took our time and did some exploring on a use trail near Finger Rock heading east down Telegraph Canyon. A very pretty area I had not seen before. For all the cars we saw nobody until we passed Finger Rock where we encountered a couple of senior hiking groups doing the Picketpost circumference. Being the same age as old people is weird.
After that it was only a girl and her dog. Must have been very busy on the summit trail. Near the end we took the L.O.S.T. Loop Trail #219 to see the carved steps and return to the lot.
Lunch at Los Hermanos in Superior after the hike. Good food and pie! Thanks for joining me Michele. |
