| partners | | We parked past the bridge at the picnic area and hiked this as an out and back. There was still a good water flow throughout, so getting wet was a big part of the fun. There's a lot of route finding involved as far as the best way to travel. Sometimes it's easier hiking in the creek and other times you have to find a way around it. It's very slow going in this rugged and beautiful canyon, but the scenery is spectacular. As popular as Upper Fish Creek seems to be, there doesn't appear to be very many visitors to this section (the lack of trash was a good indication of that). On this beautiful Saturday, we only saw one other person.
My GPS was unreliable much of the way, so I can only guess on the actual mileage. I think we got about halfway down the creek before we had to turn around, but the constant zig-zagging added to the distance and our relentless picture taking added to the time. |
