| partners | | With an arsenal of cutting tools, Hank, Tom, Gary, Angela and I headed out from the Woodbury trailhead to do some serious catclaw damage. We had been working for about 2 hours when nonot snuck up on us disguised as an ordinary hiker. We weren't expecting anyone else to make it and the last any of us knew, nonot was still trying to get a ride. It didn't seem likely that anybody was going to come through for him at the last minute, so we were totally surprised to see him! (and by "totally", I mean, we made him do the secret handshake to confirm his identity so we could all stop pretending we didn't know who he was!) Hooray for Wally for donating the HAZmobile while he was out of town and cheers to nonot for never giving up! Now, that's what we call team spirit!
We really lucked out on the weather with cloud cover most of the afternoon. It saved us from roasting out there and we were able to put a serious dent in the project. We worked hard, but the company was great, so the day went by pretty fast. Back at the Hank Hilton, we indulged in some post-hike refreshments of iced tea, potato chips and chocolate chip cookies. Now, that's my kind of trail food! Thanks, Hank, for your wonderful hospitality! |
