| partners | | This was a 2 day backpack with SuperstitionGuy from the Rogers TH to Angel Basin and back out the following day. This is a beautiful route and the trail is in good shape. The many creek crossings keep you pretty close to the water and the cascades all the way down the canyon are nice photo ops. Unfortunately, that dead horse that's been polluting the water in the creek since November looks like it will be there indefinitely, so make sure to bring plenty of your own. At the present, there is filterable water in Angel Basin from a different source, but that's seasonal like everything else.
The hike starts off with some fairly steep sections which get you down (or back up) in a hurry. After that, the rest of the hike is much easier. The majority of the trail is well shaded making it much more pleasant. Lots of pretty manzanita along the way. I imagine this would be a beautiful trip to plan for the fall when the leaves on all the sycamores lining the creek turn color. I'll have to put that one on my list. |
