We did a loop from Paradise down to Reflection Lakes and up Mazama Ridge. We walked down the Paradise Valley Road to signed (and marked) trail to Reflection Lakes. Lots of people enjoying the views at the lakes. Then it was back up that same trail where we turned right and headed up the unmarked Mazama Ridge trail. Down the 4th crossing trail to Paradise Valley Road and back up to Paradise. Just under 7 miles but that includes our walk from/to the lower parking area. This loop gets most of the road walking out of the way first and gives great views for majority the snowshoe. My wife switched over to micro spikes on the way back due to a painful blister and did just fine. I did the whole loop in snowshoes but it could probably be done in boots or spikes if you wanted as the trail was pretty well traveled the entire way. Surprised to see fewer people today than last Sunday but that's not a complaint -- we were just pleasantly surprised! |
