| no partners | | Arrived at Paradise with mostly clear skies and thought it would be a bluebird day. Headed down the Paradise Valley Road. I was going to take it all the way until it intersects with the route up from Narada Falls but nobody had gone that way and I didn't want to break trail the entire way. So up the 4th crossing trail where some folks were already breaking trail. When I reached the top, clouds had rolled in and blocked the mountain. From here I broke trail along the ridge to our favorite lunch spot. Today it was one without a view. As I ate though two gentlemen passed me going down and one couple came up from Narada Falls. Being early and with a trail already blazed I continued all the way down. Took the short trail back over to the Paradise Valley road but again no tracks heading to Paradise. One skier had apparently came down. Not wanting to break trail (I'm out of shape), I decided just to return the way I came back up Mazama Ridge. The great part was that once I broke out to where there were views, there were views as the clouds had moved on! So I was able the end the day on a high note after experiencing great views. A few people out on the trail today and all were so friendly. Couldn't ask for a better day! |
