After about another 1.5 miles there is gate. Just past the gate you intersect with Road 1010. Take a left. Almost immediately there is a second gate. A little ways past the second gate is the junction with Road 1000. Turn left and follow this road all the way to a Y junction with Road 1070 (signed as "Falls). Take a left here. Next take the signed trail to "Falls" on your left. Up until this point it's all road walking and no mud to worry about. Once on the actual falls trail the mud begins. I think today's muddiest section was at the end of the upper falls trail. I was glad to have both boots and poles. Middle falls had some mud as well as did the trail from middle falls back down to the Bud Blancher trail (aka Weyerhauser Road). Lower falls was closed due to a slide although someone has hand-written a note that the trail is fine until the first viewpoint but I didn't venture a trip down today as I've been before and can come again later. This lasso loop clocked in at about 7.5 miles. |
